This is why you are wrong:
Whether or not you can find one or two irrelevant differences (like private 'investing' vs. public 'taxing') between SS and a traditional Ponzi scheme is meaningless. It's not really an arguable point... like all Ponzi schemes, Social Security does not make money, it simply takes money from younger taxpayers to pay benefits to older (now retired) taxpayers. In order for this (and all) Ponzi scheme to stay afloat, there must be more and more payers or more income from each individual payer to ensure the pyramid stays intact. Unfortunately, due to reality, there are fewer young workers relative to the number of retirees to keep the system afloat. Unless a miracle occurs, Social Security will eventually collapse just like any Ponzi Scheme.
At any rate, we're off topic. Back to the OP.

That's so he can look through it!
Seriously, that's worth mentioning?
I was wondering if it was a functioning implant designed to restore sight or a non-functioning cosmetic replacement for a lost eye. I did a quick look and it seems the functioning kind are pretty rare so prob not.
I am impressed that someone with limited sight and/or no depth perception would be so good at designing things.
Scientific research is a pretty awesome goal, I hope he enjoys it.

Interesting! So under your description Macromedia Studio/Adobe CS are free apps as well ;)
For one month. If you were a profesional you could potentially make enough money with the Adobe 30 day trials to pay for the full programs.
Whether or not you can be productive with it even with the limited time. Now if the program can be ran but you could not save what you produced out of it then it would not be free.

I thought I read somewhere on this forum, that these models can work just fine with only 1 processor installed....so this got me thinking -- if you only install 1 processor, then you could go with a generic LGA1366 i7 even though it only has a single QPI link. Is this right, or am I wrong?

Why do Windows machines use Group Policies? To push software out to machines, sure -but the real reason is to lock down machines that are by their very design security risks.
* That right there tells me you're not worth your weight in salt for things regarding AD and Group Policies. Yes GP's are used for locking down the machine but NOT solely for this purpose OR for security risks
Group Polices:
* Forcing PW restrictions & lengths (i.e. No first/last name, 30/60/90days length).
* Deploying a patch or software update on LAN for uniformity - if you rely on just the OS to do this - then you're a moron. Even APPLE has security risks in OS X - recall the most popular about Safari allowing theft of address book content?
* Allowing/restricting access to corporate intranet portals/sites - and sub-sites. Again this is NOT part of the OS to do this: Win98/XP/7/Unix/Linux/OSX.
- that is just a few things GPs are used for.
1. I have had to fix the registry twice after installing Opera -if you install that into Windows 7 the system starts generating security errors and warnings, and you can no longer open hyperlinks in Outlook. This is Microsoft preventing you from installing 3rd party browsers into Windows 7 -I don't have these issues on my Mac (I run 3 browsers there)
* Issues with Outlook hyperlinks can be related to HTML/Text.
- that is a setting & very easy to fix.
If one simple application causes issues with the system or others then you NEED to troubleshoot it. This is why error logs (Event Viewer/Console) exists. Stop making excuses because you're unwilling to find the error or ask for help. Microsoft, by European law (whatever the body that created it is) can NO LONGER force their IE browser to ship with Windows (since Windows Vista/shortly after launch). In the USA their allowed to ship it but again NOT FORCE users to have this set as default and easily changeable even during installation of 3rd party's offerings. I don't deny your having issues, you're just looking for an easy excuse. BTW; are you SURE there is not a GPO that restricts users from having 3rd party browsers? Many financial institutions have this restricted in North America because of leaking out information.
2. Many 3rd party and legacy applications do not work correctly, even when run in compatibility mode. I had to rig the system to run some of these apps (more wasted time).
- Dude, you're running LEGACY applications here. Most likely there were not intended to work with the new OS nor supported to, and quote possibly WILL cause issues. Heck I can track down my favourite OS X theme and find out it has issues with Snow Leopard - getting rid of the minimize, close, and maximize buttons for EACH window. Yes it was created for Leopard and ONLY supports Leopard. Oh yeah OS X does NOT natively support themes - so you get the similarities.
3. The antivirus slows down the system
- Can't argue that. Its an applications that also has a process that runs while the OS is running. One of the beauties for NOT using Windows at ALL!! :apple:
I could go on and on, but this is a productivity issue: I am not as productive on Windows as I am on a Mac. Microsoft has been in disarray for years and it shows. Why on Server 2008 does the utility "Server Management" and "Manage Server" point to 2 totally different applications? Sounds like someone is shipping off projects to India and not paying attention.
This right there - highlighted in BOLD - shows something of your nature completely unrelated to the technical issue; regardless of Microsoft does have a large corporate office in India. I'd love to see how you handle work if your boss is of Indian descent. Actually lets BOTH stop right there and not relate technical OS issues/preferences on nationalities of human beings being at fault.
Now before I get accused of MS bashing, I will point out that MS makes excellent front-end applications such as Office. This is where the company shines (Access is really great product). They just make crappy operating systems and servers.
So Exchange 2007/2010, SQL Server and many others that have GROWN in popularity and licensing contracts across the world - at the expense of loosing contracts like Domino/etc/GroupWise - not proof of just how good their OS and servers are (servers ARE OS' from Microsoft btw).

Samsung is losing money in a lot of areas. They found a buyer finally for their hard drive business:
Seagate buys up Samsung HDD division for $1.375 bi (http://www.afterdawn.com/news/article.cfm/2011/04/19/seagate_buys_up_samsung_hdd_division_for_1_375_billion)
Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 19 Apr 2011
"As part of the deal, Samsung gets a 9.6 percent ownership stake in Seagate.
Seagate, for its part, will become the sole provider for HDD in Samsung PCs, notebooks, NAS and DVR alongside the extension of a number of cross-license agreements.
Additionally, Seagate now has a guaranteed supply of NAND flash memory for SSD, a huge bonus for the drive maker.
..."
As for this post:
Given the terrific success of the pads & phones, this attack on Samsung by Apple is quite out of place.
Apple isn't attacking Samsung. Apple is defending itself.

I think the free 38 character engraving is one of the things that makes this product so special. Buying one without it seems to devalue it's significance to me.
Examples of cool engravings would be:
Reward 4 Return 555.555.6789 Taylor B.
Frank Ford 555.555.6789 Please Return
Always in my thoughts. Love, Fred
Always in my thoughts. Love, Claudia
When you speak, it's music to my ears.
Always listen carefully. Love, Charles
Ahh Multi, always so enthused by the little things...
How about:
"Happy Birthday, you're adopted!"
"My alcoholism = no nano for you"
"Merom will double your battery life"
:D

If all goes to plan, I will be building an Ivy Bridge computer when the chip comes out. But who knows when that is actually going to happen.

They didn't know I was a guy because I was dressing gender neutral. I said that the sane lesbians don't hate men, unfortunately with lesbians like muslims the annoying ones stick out.
Umm ok.
I might revise that to say annoying people of all religions and sexualities (?) and races, etc.. stick out. It doesn't sound quite so...bad.

Actually yes... If you cross the road without looking.. You deserve to get hit by a car. What the hell kind of example is that? If you're going to spend $450 on something, you should AT LEAST be smart enough to read the description of the product. I never once said the seller was right in doing so, so don't you dare call me a scum... Maybe you should re-read my post before you try and act like a smart guy. We don't need anymore trolls around here. I clearly stated the buyer deserves to lose his money for complete stupidity.
And don't even get me started with your crossing the road without looking comparison. You should think about what you say before you type it out. You're comparing a person losing $450 and potentially someone being killed.
Lol you're asking me to re-read what you wrote when you can't even see who I was calling scum in my post? Hint: it wasn't you. Another tip. Not every single person who writes something you disagree with is a troll. Check your web slang dictionary. Troll is becoming more misused than "fail".
Funny how people who say the buyer gets what he deserves get all macho and hot headed about it, just like the seller.

It's certainly not as sleek as before but that's my first impression. Not quite as professional looking and the UI is almost 'overdone'.
Might revert to Tweetie 1.
Maps are nice though.
That's it exactly, I've been trying to think what it is... and you're right the UI is actually overdone!

If you change your plan, you WILL lose any rollover minutes you have accumulated over the past year. Remember too that rollover minutes are only good for a year. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Bertrand's accent is really funny.... I remember him saying: Snaw Lepawd... Also, wasn't he one of the CEOs of BE, Inc??
He helped found Be, right? I do know he was responsible for not allowing G5's to run Snaw Lepawd.
Uh, no.

Exactly!
Heck I have said some crap to good friends of mine on the ice and they have said some crap to me. Even at my level of play there's emotion that sometimes gets the better of us.
That's funny, because the ice team I started playing with (all straight guys except for me) recently kicked a guy off the team for using the F word repeatedly, and that was before I joined. I don't feel the need to use slurs when I play, and neither do they. They think it's cheap, immature and they won't tolerate it.

Note: on some G4s nap mode is already enabled by default.
Oh, I didn't know that. On which ones exactly?
I was thinking that only G5s had it enabled automatically.
OP, if you want 2.5" drives in reasonable pricing, consider WD BEKT (Blacks).
If you'll want to squeeze more juice of your MDD in the future (and you're not afraid of solderin iron), maybe think about overclocking FSB from 133 to 167? It's quite easy, only one resistor to desolder. You'll be able to upgrade CPU to dual 1.25 or 1.42.
