On August 17, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

My wife who is a derivative applicant for the GC is employed on EAD. She has been advised to go on a pregnancy short term disability leave by the doctor. We live in California and her company provides the short term disability through the California SDI.
Is it ok to claim this while having applied for GC. Is the SDI by any chance considered a public charge? Any help would be appreciated.

Since it would be pending for >365 days you should be able to extend.

Hi,
I am planning to get my H1B extension Visa stamped in Montreal, Canada. i am in US right now. I have completed the online application. I have paid the fee through my credit card and the status of the transaction is showing as "Pending" in my bank account. I can able to see "MRV Fee Receipt Number". i can also able to see Schedule Appointment First Available: Friday, November 12, 2010 09:30 AM. But I am not able to schedule an appointment. All of the steps I performed on Yesterday. So I have waited for today for any changes and all remains the same.
Please help me.

I entered U.S with B1/B2 visa and got changed into F1 status. While F1 status got approved
I departed U.S due to family matter.
Now I'd like to make it sure that my B1/B2 visa is still valid,because I plan to visit to my friend who lives in U.S.
How to check my B1/B2 visa could be remained still valid?

Considering many limitations to move a job from non-profit to for-profit, I am considering moving my job to another non profit. With my current employer, my 6 year H-1 B will expire by the end of next year April. So if my change my employer, I will have a very short time to start the process again till I reach I -140 approval again with the new employer.
I heard that from non-profit to for-profit, you are subject to the quota and you have to apply for H-1B quota. But in this case, your previous 6 year with non profit doesn't count.
But if I move from non-profit to non-profit, do I have to reach I-140 approval before my current H-1 B with my current employer expires? Or do I just get another 3 year with new non-profit employer?
If I have to get I-140 approval with new non-profit employer before my current 6 year H-1 B expires, is it doable?

Hey everybody, My friend have a situation. He is from Haiti and he been in the USA since 1998 on a visitors visa but stayed. Graduated school, but couldn't do nothing else because of his papers, he lived with his sisters and they didn't work on it. Had a little situation in 2007 where he left the scene of an accident because he didn't have papers. They called it a felony, and now the (TPS) came around and he got denied because of that felony. He doesn't know where or what to do, don't have money for lawyers because he cant work. Anybody out there been there that knows what to do please feel free to do so. GOD bless

I was on F1 visa and applied for my GC / I485 thru my spouse few years back. Unfortunately while coming back from India 3 years back, I used my stamped F1 visa instead of AP. My lawyer told me that due to this, I have abondoned my AOS and he has to withdraw my 485 and refile it when it will be current. Few days back spouse became current and attorney was preparing to apply for 485 again but in USCIS the status of my application was still shown pending not withdrawn. To our surprise, we saw 2 GC in the mail and the online status was shown approved. But the attorney is saying that we should re-file the 485 since USCIS did not withdraw my application and approved it. They says that I might have issues if my absence is detected when I will apply for citizenship later. Please suggest. I am so puzzled and tensed..

I am from India.I am on H4(dependent visa),with a stamped expiry date of May 7,2010 on my H4 visa and I-94.I got a J1 offer for further studies in USA.Till I get my required documents for J1 visa,I am guessing it will be beyond this date.My husband has already applied for his visa extension.
1.Now,if I plan to get stamping of J1 in Mexico after the H4 expiry date but with necessary receipts and documents (for H4 related),will I face any problems?
2.Do I need to go to India(my home country) for sure for stamping?
3.Is it better to have status change in USA itself(will delay start of the course)?
Awaiting for feedbacks.
